On July 14, 2025, the Khangai Regional Council held an expanded meeting in Tsetserleg, Arkhangai Province, where it approved the implementation of a renewable energy project under a PPP arrangement.

The project includes the construction of a 10 MW solar power plant and 20 MWh battery energy storage system in each Khangai province. Scheduled for completion by 2026, this initiative aims to enhance local energy access, reduce dependency on the central grid, and support Mongolia’s green development goals.
