ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – The Government of Mongolia will organize the “Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Investment Opportunities Week” and the “PPP Forum 2026” from April 20 to 24, 2026, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors and fostering a more favorable investment environment.
The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy and Development and the PPP Center State-Owned Enterprise (SOE), in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI). The week-long program will feature discussions and activities focused on PPP policy, project development, capacity building, and investment opportunities.
PPP Week: Exploring Sectoral Opportunities (April 20–23)
The first four days will feature technical sessions and roundtable discussions hosted at the Investor Protection Center of the Ministry of Economy and Development.
Culminating the week, the PPP Forum 2026 will serve as a platform to showcase Mongolia’s updated PPP legal and institutional frameworks and present PPP projects to investors, development partners, and other stakeholders.
Key Highlights
Financing Mechanisms
Representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and other organizations will share international experience in project financing and risk management.
Strategic Partnerships
Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed between the Government of Mongolia, the IFC, international development partners, and local authorities, aimed at strengthening cooperation and supporting PPP project development.
Panel Discussions
Domestic and international investors, financial institutions, and advisory firms will exchange views on enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of PPP projects.
PPPs as a Driver of Economic Growth
Public-private partnerships play an important role in modernizing infrastructure and improving public service delivery while reducing pressure on public finances. The PPP Investment Opportunities Week and PPP Forum 2026 are expected to serve as an important platform for attracting investment, advancing project development, and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors in Mongolia.
